Heya Folks,
I figured i should let those of you who are interested know about the current status of my next flash game: Sleepy Peak Retreat. For those that don't know, SLP is a game i have been developing since July last year. I had many ambitious goals for this title; such as collaborating with some of you folks here at DeviantART to include your original characters within the game, but sadly this will no longer be possible. This is because the game is being created as part of a university project, which is now dangerously close to its deadline. - a deadline which has stormed round much faster than i had anticipated, leaving no time to complete the aforementioned collaborations
The game will be submitted both here, and on my personal website in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, checkout the trailer:

I wanted to start by apologizing for my inactivity since my last update. University has steam-rolled back into my schedule and left me no time for DeviantART or any of my personal projects. Please don't think i am deliberately ignoring any of you though - my inbox gets quickly out-of-control when i get busy, and it becomes very hard to find the time to get through all my messages

Anyway, on to the important stuff: I had NO IDEA i would receive such an overwhelming response to my last journal, and want to thank you all for the interest in this project. A lot of great characters have been offered and i'm slowly but surely making my way through all of them. My apologies once again for not responding to all of you, i really had no idea how many people would be interested in this and simply have not had the time to get back to all of you..
I have not yet made a decision! - With all the coding that needs to be done, this project will not be complete until roughly April next year. So if you are still interested, there is plenty of time to contact me.
So here's some answers to some of the questions i had in the previous journal:

So here's some answers to some of the questions i had in the previous journal:
- It does not matter the format of the picture you send me. It could be a anything from a sketch, a digital composition, a painting or even cosplay. The idea of receiving an image rather than just a description is that i can accurately re-create your character in my style without misconceiving the description.
- I'm not looking for a 'theme' for these characters. The game aims to be somewhat random, so anything from a demon to a talking frog is acceptable. But as mentioned before; Ponies and Furries are not really what i'm looking for.. (sorry guys)
- Letting me use your character is only HALF of what i am requesting here. It is important to remember that if i choose your character, i will need to have direct contact with you afterwards (Facebook? Skype? Messenger?) so that i can discuss how your character would respond to the protagonist's dialog. One of the main reasons i am requesting for help is because i am hoping to create a script that seems diverse in contrast to something written by me alone. This means that your characters need to have some sort of personality and somewhat notable charisma.
I have had people suggesting their characters through a variety of different communication channels - notes, emails, comments etc, and as a result it has become very hard to consolidate and compare everything i have received. So i have devised a solution to sort any future submissions into a place where i can easily view everything at once. From now on, please submit your characters through this link:

CHARACTERS NEEDED!

So i am currently working on a new flash game which is going to be the biggest and most ambitious project of mine to date. The idea is to have a playable character that has to explore a large building populated with unique and eccentric individuals (Think 'Day of the Tentacle' and 'Maniac Mansion'). There is obviously much more to the story but that is irrelevant at this point. Each NPC the player comes across will have the ability to initiate multi-choice conversation. The aim is a multi-layered experience where the player can discover the personalities of all the characters in the game.
At the moment i am in the very early stages (mainly level design and story writing), and i have come to realize; I am useless at creating original characters. SO; this is a call to anyone who would like to see their character (reworked in my style) in this game. Provide a link in this journal to a character of yours, with a brief description of their persona and background..
I'm not looking for anything in particular, but the character must at least *look* like a human - so demons, aliens, zombies, ghosts, vampires whatever - are all good. Sadly, Ponies and Furries won't really fit the theme of the game.
I'll contact you if i feel your OC is right for the game, and we can discuss how i can correctly portray your characters personality.
The game is completely non-commercial, and i will credit you in the credits of the game.
